Help for Heroes retrospective

The charity ball at the Park Inn in Telford for Help the Heroes was a great success not just for me, but for the charity as well, raising lots of money for this excellent cause. Guest of honour for the night was Corporal Ricky Furgusson who received the military cross for his actions in Afghanistan. A very un assuming and friendly guy.

Photos didn't start picking up until about an hour into the event and then we, myself and Jon Watkiss, had a queue forming and worked very well together shooting and selling photos we had taken up until gone 1am on Sunday morning. After taking costs for the printer, paper and a small amount for ourselves, we were very happy to be able to donate £100.00 at the end of the night to the charity.  I am looking very much forward to the next charity event.

The only downside of the night which has turned into an 'upside' was i discovered why my Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens when attached to the camera was always over exposing. I assumed in the states that the reason highlights were blowing was due to the very wide light gamut, but trying to set my camera up with the studio lights everything was over exposed. The little lever on the back of the lens that controls the blades is very sluggish. Lens back at Sigma and i managed to get the 3 year extended warranty authorised before it went back.
